Q. How much of the money raised goes to salaries?

A. Zero. Blessing Bethlehem has no employees. It is run by the staff of the Center for Jewish - Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC). All proceeds go directly to the campaign to assist the Christians of Bethlehem and the surrounding areas.

Q. Is Blessing Bethlehem affiliated with Bethlehem Bible College?

A. No. There is absolutely no affiliation and no cooperation between Blessing Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Bible College.

Q. How many Christians are currently living in Bethlehem and what percentage are in need of help?

A. There are approximately 12,000 Christians living in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas. Many face unemployment and discrimination.

Q. Who distributes the food to the needy families?

A. We purchase the food from a local Christian Arab grocer. It is then packaged and distributed through help of Christian volunteers. The program is overseen by the CJCUC staff.

Q. Why is an Orthodox Jewish institution involved in helping Christian Arabs in Palestinian controlled areas?

A. Covenant land comes with covenant responsibility. Our Christian Arab brothers and sisters are facing persecution with some radical elements in Bethlehem and its surrounding areas. The Bible mandates us to help those who are in need in the Land. As a Center dedicated to the building up relations between Jews and Christians, it becomes our mandate to help them.
