Xiaomi launches Mi Box 4S Max with 8K resolution and Android TV

Xiaomi’s new set-top box, Mi Box 4S Max has an HDMI 2.1 port in the datasheet to transmit images with 8K resolution

Xiaomi  presented  , this Tuesday (7), the  Mi Box 4S Max . The new set-top box with Android TV from the Chinese brand stands out for its support for 8K resolution and has an HDMI 2.1 port. The device still offers the option to transmit images in 4K at 60 fps and brings a remote control with support for virtual assistants.

The launch follows some features of the Mi Box 4S, announced by Xiaomi in 2020 with 4K resolution . This is the case of the square body with curved ends, but in a different color: black instead of white. The device also has a remote control via Bluetooth with a microphone button for voice commands.

The highlight is the support for images with 8K resolution, but Xiaomi did not inform the maximum frame rate. The device features the Amlogic S905X3 quad core processor and a 4GB RAM memory. Consumers still have 64 GB of storage so they don’t have to worry about space when storing files.

The datasheet still mentions the HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.0 ports. To watch movies and series, Mi Box 4S Max comes out of the box with Android TV under the MIUI for TV interface. The device also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, dynamic HDR, Dolby Audio and DTS to improve sound quality.

The launch is on sale in China for a suggested price of 499 yuan.
